Applewood Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Keysville, Georgia.
Applewood first opened for play in 1996. The par 72 layout was designed by Chuck Baer.
The course flows over gently rolling hills with wide fairways and very generous roughs. The fairways and greens are guarded by over 60 bunkers that are generally not a problem unless you get too wild. The greens are medium in size and accessible. There are also 5 ponds on the property that come into play on 6 holes.
There are four sets of tees on the golf course, ranging in yardage from 6,935 yards from the Blue tees to 4,867 yards from the Red tees.

Great course, not in the sense of a PGA Tournament or destination course, but great in the sense of a real nice everyday course that you enjoy without feeling that you are spending the kids college funds. Nice layout, good condition, and a friendly staff and atmosphere.
Applewood has wide open fairways so grip um and rip um. The greens are domed but roll true, but fast down hill during the winter.
The course is located about 25 miles south of Augusta, but is worth the drive, particularly on Mondays when you can play all day for $27.
Nice course, if you are in the area, and want a nice golf course that will not break you, this is the one I recommend.

The course suffered tremendous damage due to a tornado in mid-March, losing about 300 trees. However, the course is in good condition and continues to improve. Greens are in excellent shape.

BACK NINE PLAYS TOO SLOW ... you will have to wait on almost every tee because long ball players will be tempted to drive the green on at least 6 of the holes on back nine. Of course this means they wait for the green to clear.
Nice course, good challenging greens, but pace on the back is just way too slow. Backed up on the last six holes. Should not have to take 4.5 to 5 hours to play 18 holes of golf.
